This is the Picaxe OWI 535 Robot Arm web site that is intended to provide information to understand how to build your own CNC controlled OWI 535 Robot Arm.

The project is now complete. The project replaces the USB Kit with a superb solution. The modifications are as follows:

  • Computer control of the Robot Arm in 3 dimensions to 1mm.
  • Axis and Gripper control can be independent or any combination of axis(s) and the Gripper.
  • Computer control of the Robot Arm using the GCode language.
  • Manual control of the Robot Arm using the adapted controller.
  • Gearbox mods that include a positional sensor and a opto movement counter.
  • The mods use the standard motors and components.
  • Integration of the solution to Psuedo CNC controller via comms port.
  • Direct access to any axis via comms port.
An additional benefit is that this approach can be adapted to support any single DC motor or mutliple DC motor robot!
